BLACK WOMANHOOD

Having been inspired by breathtaking landscapes, tarot cards, and historic African artwork, this series reflects the folklore, pain, and joy of the African diaspora. Through intricate illustrations filled with magical and alchemical symbolism, I wanted to visually represent my journey as a young, black woman.

Black womanhood is dual-natured, with pride in our strength and heartache at society's disdain of us existing as two sides of the same coin. This series celebrates, examines, and reflects the black women's experience globally and personally.
